Chief accountant

Key Responsibilities


Lead and oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial controls;
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in full compliance with local legislation and IFRS standards;
Prepare and file statutory tax reports and declarations, ensuring full compliance with local tax laws and deadlines;
Analyze financial performance, monitor budget variances, and provide actionable insights to the management team;
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and present findings to senior leadership;
Supervise and guide accounting team, promoting adherence to best practices and continuous professional development;
Support budget planning and forecasting activities by delivering accurate and timely financial data;
Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation and addressing audit queries;
Review and enhance internal accounting procedures to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.


Requirements


A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
A valid PMS 2 certificate (Mandatory).
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
Deep proficiency in IFRS and local tax regulations.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., 1C, SAP, or other ERP systems).
Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility and accuracy.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
