Mathematics Teacher (Cambridge International Curriculum)

Key Responsibilities


Curriculum Implementation: Plan and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons based on Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, or IGCSE/A-Level stages.
Conceptual Understanding: Focus on developing students' mental strategies and deep understanding of mathematical concepts rather than rote memorization.
Assessment & Tracking: Conduct regular assessments aligned with Cambridge Checkpoint or IGCSE standards and provide constructive feedback.
ICT Integration: Utilize digital tools and mathematical software (e.g., Geogebra, MyMaths, or interactive whiteboards) to enhance learning.
Interdisciplinary Approach: Collaborate with Science and ICT departments to demonstrate the real-world application of mathematics.


Requirements & Qualifications


Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related STEM field.
Certification: Valid teaching license or professional certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
Experience: Proven experience in a Cambridge International School or a school using international standards (IB/Common Core).
Language Proficiency: Excellent command of English (Strong communication skills to explain complex abstract concepts clearly). Native or near-native English proficiency (Minimum C1/C2 level or IELTS 7.0+).
Technical Skills: Familiarity with the Cambridge Teacher Support Service and digital assessment platforms.


Specific Pedagogical Skills


Ability to teach Thinking and Working Mathematically (TWM) skills as per the latest Cambridge framework.
Experience in differentiating instruction for students with varying mathematical abilities.
Strong classroom management and a passion for making Mathematics "fun" and accessible.
